A-STEP

ENTER THE NEW AND GROWING FIELD OF SLEEP TECHNOLOGY

Initial training and certification through Sleep HealthCenters Sleep Technologist Education Program.

The A-STEP Introductory Course is offered locally at Sleep HealthCenters and the A-STEP Self-Study Modules are completed on the AASM website in conjunction with your employer’s on-the-job training program.

Sleep Technologists observe patients during sleep in order to identify sleep disorders. This involves application and monitoring of diagnostic equipment and initiation of therapy. With this training, new technologists will learn the basics of brain, heart and airway anatomy and physiology, how to monitor sleep and identify sleep disorders. Trainees will gain experience with application of monitoring equipment, identification of sleep stages and sleep events and knowledge of the most commonly used interventions.

At Sleep HealthCenters Sleep Technologist Education Program, you will:

  • Learn from proven and nationally accredited trainers on state-of-the-art equipment.
  • Earn credentials recognized by the AASM and The American Association of Sleep Technologists (AAST).
  • Complete the first step to entering the field of sleep technology.

The A-STEP Introductory Course is a combination of lecture and hands-on training.
